Christmas Activities

Live Nativity Petty Zoo is at Christ the Servant @ 2 South Pecos Rd...just north of the 215 exit on the East side. It is on Dec 6, from 10:30 to 12:30.

Also if you're looking for some free Christmas themed activities to do with your little ones on the weekends here are a few ideas:

Bass Pro Shops has a Winter Workshop every weekend and all the games & activities are free! Children can also write a letter to and have their picture taken with Santa. Log on to: http://www.basspro.com for more information.

Lowes has a Build & Grow Clinic every Saturday and this weekends craft is a wooden Gingerbread House. I think you have to sign up ahead of time so call or check out their website for more info.

Don't forget the Boulder City Parade is this Saturday!

Twas the month before Christmas

I received this via email and it was too good to not share with everyone.
Twas the month before Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
* At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS , Not Happy Holiday !*
Please, all Christians join together and Wish everyone you meet during the Holidays a MERRY CHRISTMAS Christ is The Reason¢ for the Christ-mas Season!

Tues Nov. 24th Meeting

Don't forget to bring a baby picture of yourself (between ages 1-3) to our next meeting. Put it in an envelope so no one sees it because they will be used in a game. Also, for our baking craft you need to bring a peeler for the apples and either a pie tin or a small square pan. And last but not least-bring your favorite holiday recipe!

Moms Night Out!

Our first Moms Night Out of the year is this Friday, Oct. 2nd, 7:00 @ Starbucks. Moms Night Out will always be the first week of the month, normally on Wednesday, but this week it's Friday b/c of the soccer schedule. It will always be at Starbucks and don't let your finances keep you from coming! If you can't afford a drink a member of the steering team will use MOPS funds to buy one for you! We all struggle at times so don't be afraid to speak up.

I'd also like to thank Lisa for all the wonderful food and tips on cooking today!!
